Hiking- out at Arctic Valley Ski Resort. We didn't actually take any pictures until we reached the top. We then hiked along the crest of the mountains to the next peak and came back. Not sure how far, but it took about 5 hours total.
Biking- the trails around Lake Eklutna. It was muddy and rainy, but it was beautiful.
Fishing- at the Kenai River. We missed the first salmon run, so didn't catch much. The ones we did catch looked pretty sick, so we through 'em back. Had a great time though.
I didn't fish that day. I'm terrible at fly fishing and I tend to frustrate myself and everybody who tries to teach me how. Anywho, I got bored watching Brad and found something more interesting to take pictures of. I should mention that we were fishing off a little island and this guy was on the opposite shore about 10 feet away. He was looking a bit apprehensive at first, he kept looking at me and grunting. So I backed off 'til he relaxed.
Then he forgot all about me and I sat there for an hour taking pictures (I have about a thousand). I seriously loved that bear.
He eventually became distracted and left me.
Brad was the only one out of our group of ten to catch a fish (and Im pretty sure it was just floating along half dead when the hook slipped in its mouth). It was disgusting. It's head was literally green and it's body was RED. It looked positively prehistoric. But it was exciting for everyone, as it was probably the last fish left in the River. But still, we got it. Awesome.
Eagle :)
